A thoroughly housebroken ‘watchdog’

This chart reflects nothing new, but merely a culmination of a trend stretching back several administrations.  Americans need to ask why they expect a ‘watchdog press’ from a pool of personalities that one moment is a reporter, and the next the Presidential press secretary.  This is not ‘career progression,’ it is serious conflicts of interest.  How anyone can believe that former government officials can flip a switch and become ‘fair and balanced’ commentators, or report objectively on their spouses/lovers/pub buddies is beyond me.  Until/unless the revolving doors are closed down, what we really have is something akin to a State-run media that occasionally gives the government a few pulled punches just for appearances.  Is it any wonder there is such concern in Mordor D.C. over the independent voices facilitated by the Internet?
