National Review, as a publication, all too often leans toward the statist neo-conservative perspective. That said, this article was so well written I had to recommend it… including echoing the headline in the title of this post. It’s really time for Americans to stop and consider what’s happening here: local police agencies are now routinely employing more paramilitary force — including injury and death — against citizens who are supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, than our government does in securing and enforcing our nation’s border against those who are by definition committing criminal trespass!
In neither case is due process and the rule of law being applied. Doesn’t that concern you?
