Saturday Sounds

I first discovered this song via the recent cover by The Piano Guys (who frequently appear on Saturday Sounds).  But I’m going to embed the original here — click on the link in the line above for the cover.  This is a beautiful expression of the commitment that should be the hallmark of love.

Posted this week in honor of my parents’ upcoming 50th anniversary… thanks for the loving example you set for your kids and grandkids!  May we all remember that words have meaning, and promises are meant to be kept — even when it’s inconvenient.

  1. JT — that was powerful! I’m into my 35th year of continuous DoD service (30 years active duty), and my wife and I have endured countless separations during our 34-year marriage — I’ve not always made it easy for my dear wife to love me, but God’s Grace is abundant and unending. Thanks for the post — I’m going to share this post with her as soon as I stop typing here! I appreciate your site…may God continue to bless you and your family.

  2. I’m glad it was a blessing for you. Congratulations to you and your wife for holding firm even through Uncle Sam’s competition for your time and attention. May you have many more happy anniversaries to add to those 34! And may our society realize again the preciousness of such commitment, so that Golden Anniversaries no longer seem so unusual to so many.

  3. JT — I shared it with her via FB — she’s currently visiting her parents in WV (50+ years I might add), and they are having a wonderful time — she said she was so pleased to see and hear the song…again, thank you for your inspiration and commitment to God.
