Today marks an unhappy milestone. A Pepperdine University Law School Professor has been archiving all the developments in the IRS political targeting scandal since day one.
Today is day 1000. One. Thousand.
And nobody — nobody — has yet gone to jail over this egregious misuse of federal power for political purposes. Not. One. Single. Person. Sure, the House voted to hold Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress, but the Obama (in)Justice Department refused to follow up. Yeah, that’ll really show out of control bureaucrats who’s boss!
The real question is, how long can the rest of us live with this utter unaccountability in our government? After all, the IRS mafia is just one branch of what appears to be a full-up Federal crime family:
Accountability? Not at the Veterans Administration
Accountability? Not at the General Services Administration
Accountability? Not in Congress (you have ONE primary job, knuckleheads… do it on time!)
So what do you call a government that snoops, steals, fails and breaks rules wantonly without any repercussions? Certainly not a representative government. After all, if We the People did any of the above, we’d go to jail, lose our jobs, and be ruined for life. It’s like Glenn Reynolds often explains: ‘accountability is for the little people.’
That is, until those ‘little people’ get tired of seeing Big Business, Big Government and/or Big Ideology ruin their lives. Then accountability can make a mighty harsh comeback, (in)Justice system be damned. Just ask Robespierre how that works.
We don’t need an election. We need a complete housecleaning and a Constitutional reset. Committing to No Incumbents in 2016 is just a small start. Since our self-appointed ruling class has shown they don’t believe any rules apply to them, Americans MUST prepare for the day we, too, have to color outside the lines to right the ship of state.

It’s pretty clear most of us are unhappy with the current course (angry as hell would be more accurate). And despite building the monstrosity known as TSA, our borders are wide open and we’re anything but safe as a nation. It’s enough to make you think all of our government today is one “…long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object …a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism.”
