Never forget September 11, 2001

Sixteen years.  That’s how long it’s been since the worst terrorist attack in American history.  A total of 2,996 people dead or never accounted for.  Symbols of American power struck without warning: both World Trade center towers and the Pentagon.  The actions of informed passengers on a fourth plane likely averted a strike on the White House or Congress.

An entire generation had horrifying visions of previously unimaginable events happening in their own nation, with memories firmly etched into their minds.

They say time heals all wounds. And for the families of those lost that day I hope there is some measure of truth in it. But there is a flip side: such events fade in the public consciousness, such that they no longer inform or shape how the nation acts. To quote the opening of the movie “The Fellowship of the Ring,”

“…some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend, legend became myth…” (click “continue reading” below to continue)

Idiots everywhere

I’m looking forward to seeing the movie “Dunkirk.”  Fewer and fewer Americans are aware of just how close Hitler came to dealing a fatal blow to the Allied cause well before America formally entered the war.

But when some people wonder why the corporate media have no credibility, they need look no further than USA Today’s review of the movie:

The movie captures the real-life heroism of the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940, when nearly 400,000 Allied soldiers were pulled out after the Germans trapped them on a beach in Nazi-occupied France. Nolan’s ambitious story revolves around three tales unfolding at different times over land, sea and air, only coming together at the end…

Dunkirk is also one of the best-scored films in recent memory, and Hans Zimmer’s music plays as important a role as any character. With shades of Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations, the melodies are glorious, yet Zimmer also creates an instrumental ticking-clock soundtrack that’s a propulsive force in the action scenes.

So far, so good.  But then:

The trio of timelines can be jarring as you figure out how they all fit, and the fact that there are only a couple of women and no lead actors of color may rub some the wrong way.

(Cue scratching needle record here.)

The ONLY people who could be rubbed the wrong way by the casting of this film are those who are so historically and factually ignorant they should not be allowed within 100 miles of a voting booth or anywhere else that requires an informed decision.  For the record:

  • Nazi Germany was a nation of whites led by rabid Aryan supremacists
  • The United Kingdom in 1940 had not yet been overrun by the backwash from its imperial expansion, and so was just as white.  Admittedly, there were a handful of Indian troops among the British Expeditionary Force, but they hardly played a “lead” role.
  • The evacuation of Dunkirk occurred in France.  And while that country has long been in the vanguard of multiculturalism, only the Foreign Legion in 1940 would have had many “people of color” — and they weren’t at Dunkirk.

I suspect the reviewer was aware of most, if not all of the above. The fact he felt it necessary to insert that tripe into what was otherwise a very informative review just shows where we are as a society today.

Who knows… maybe in 25 years the role of Winston Churchill will be played by a transgendered black actress. Because diversity.

Same pablum, different day

This article is worth your attention, as it encapsulates the feelings of an already large and growing number of people (myself included):

The sad truth, and getting sadder with every attack, is that the political class has little interest in doing what would really be necessary to combat Islamist terrorism, let alone talk about it. They don’t want to talk about how Britain’s (the West’s) lax immigration policies over decades led to hundreds of thousands of immigrants entering the country with varying degrees of willingness to assimilate and adopt Western values. They don’t want to openly criticize the blatant problems with the multiculturalism the UK (West) has pursued for years and the obvious impact it has had on the immigrant population.

Oh no. This would cost them too much. It would shatter the façade of political correctness that’s been constructed over our “civilized” western world, and destroy the illusion, so vital to the political class, that Western values are universal.

The politicians are only willing to give speeches about how united we are and how terrorists cannot tear us apart. But the truth—so clear and obvious—is that with every attack the West becomes more and more divided. We are not united, not by a long shot…

There’s little to no tolerance in polite society for the kind of honesty for which many in the West are hungry…

Our political leaders are basically telling us that this kind of terrorism, random and deadly, is the price we have to pay for their policies of multiculturalism and political correctness. They know that their weak platitudes can’t stop terrorism, and so do the people. They might as well come out and say what they mean: get used to the new normal.  ((slight editing and emphasis by yours truly))

Close the borders.  Send the illegals home.  And stop importing more of the medium — hundreds of thousands of Muslims from broken and radicalized countries — in which this ideology flourishes.

This is multiculturalism

It amazes me that many of the loudest voices for ‘women’s rights’ are also thrilled to be welcoming in tens of thousands of refugees invaders for whom cutting up a little girl’s privates is a common practice:

Opposition from some members of Minnesota’s immigrant and refugee communities is slowing the momentum of a bill that would impose stiff penalties for parents involved in cases of female genital mutilation.

Since the bill’s near-unanimous passage in the Minnesota House this week, some longtime critics of the ritual have met with senators, lobbied the governor’s office and handed out fliers — all to raise alarm about the legislation…

Now, the author of the Senate version is voicing second thoughts about approving the legislation yet this session, though Senate GOP leadership have not committed to a course of action. “We all agree this practice is absolutely horrible, and something needs to be done,” said the author, Sen. Karin Housley. “How can we empower communities to address this practice from within rather than having Big Brother come down and say, ‘This is wrong?’ ”

Short answer: you can’t.  Which is why different communities with different values need to live in different areas.  Female genital mutilation is a common practice in the Muslim world (especially in Somalia, where many of the new ‘migrants’ to Minnesota are coming from), and no amount of “empowering” of the community is likely to change that.  Since values are so difficult to change, you’re left with changing external behavior — and thus the need for Big Brother.  Don’t think for a moment our nation’s elites aren’t aware of that.  How better to grow government than as the arbiter of incompatible cultures?

The fact there is newsworthy opposition to this bill (which normally would be a shoe-in under the “it’s for the children” and “grrrrl power” rules of politics) shows how much alien influence already exists in our land.  Does anyone think it gets better from here?

We open our doors to anyone who wants in, but refuse to insist that “when in America, one follows traditional American values.”  (Of course, the retort to that is “who defines traditional American values,” to which I simply say “those who know their history better than their Alinsky.”)

Close.  The.  Borders.  Now.

Deport.  The.  Invaders.  NOW.

And imprison or deport their domestic enablers.

Who let the dogs out?

That would be Angela Merkel and her fellow open borders/globalist allies:

In the early hours of January 1, around 90 women were allegedly robbed, threatened, or sexually molested at the New Year’s celebrations outside Cologne’s cathedral by young, mostly drunk, men – many of whom were described as being of “Arab or North African origin.” One rape was also reported to police.

And it’s not just Germany witnessing these new developments at the same time they are swamped by one of the largest mass migrations in history — one that has been going on for some time, but reached ludicrous speed this past year:

It was back in 1975 that the Swedish parliament decided that the country should become multicultural. The population then stood at eight million — virtually all ethnic Swedes — but its people had a proud history of offering help to outsiders…

But today Sweden faces uncomfortable questions about the kind of society it wants, or can afford, to be. At 16 per cent, the foreign-born proportion of its population is already higher than that of not only Germany and Great Britain, but also the U.S.   Since 1975, violent crime and rapes, including gang rapes, have risen to an extraordinary high level (in politically correct Sweden official statistics do not give the ethnic background of attackers.)

And in Norway, there is now an effort to teach newcomers that it’s not OK to rape and assault women (something they apparently didn’t learn in their native countries):

The goal is that participants will “at least know the difference between right and wrong,” said Nina Machibya, the Sandnes center’s manager.

But wait!  I thought all cultures were supposed to be equal.  I thought that notions of right and wrong were relative.  What’s going on here, besides people finally being “mugged by reality?”

If we’re finally admitting there is a “right” and a “wrong,” can we agree it’s wrong to dispossess Europeans (and Americans) of their countries in favor of an influx of foreigners, many of whom plunder and pillage like modern-day Vandals?

The responses of our (cough) ‘leaders’ are telling.  The Mayor of Cologne suggests women need a code of conduct to cut down on the assaults (isn’t that what feminists in America call ‘victim blaming?’).  The President of the United States pursues his higher priority of disarming the citizenry.  And heads of state across Europe scold their populations not to connect rising terrorism and lawlessness with the ongoing influx of hundreds of thousands of aliens.  Why, that would be realistic racist.

We need new leaders.  We need closed borders.  We need an armed citizenry.  And above all, we need a renewed commitment to the faith, culture and values that made the West great — including a willingness to defend them and an understanding that despite all the multicultural propaganda, they are NOT universally recognized.  We may not be imposing these standards on others abroad anymore, but we can certainly maintain them at home — provided we can override the intentions of the traitors and quislings among us.

How soon we (still) forget

Ninety-nine years ago today, the Bolsheviks in Russia confiscated church lands, canceled state subsidies for the church, made marriage a civil ordinance, and nationalized the schools, abolishing all religious instruction.

In 1983, prominent Soviet dissident Aleksander Solzhenitsyn, looking back at the wreckage and misery caused by communism in his land, had this to say:

More than half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.

Since then I have spent well-nigh fifty years working on the history of our Revolution; in the process I have read hundreds of books, collected hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight volumes of my own toward the effort of clearing away the rubble left by that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous Revolution that swallowed up some sixty million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.

What is more, the events of the Russian Revolution can only be understood now, at the end of the century, against the background of what has since occurred in the rest of the world. What emerges here is a process of universal significance. And if I were called upon to identify briefly the principal trait of the entire twentieth century, here too, I would be unable to find anything more precise and pithy than to repeat once again: Men have forgotten God.

The Twentieth Century was the bloodiest in the history of mankind.  Exact numbers vary, but most historians agree that about 17 million people died in the First World War, and 50 to 80 million in the Second.  Out of the rubble of these two ruinous events emerged a virulent and murderous ideology – Marxist-Leninism, that would inspire another 110 million deaths in a vain attempt to create a ‘worker’s paradise’ that, in reality, amounted to nothing more than protection of a ruling class by another name.

Rather than return to the roots of Christendom, long since buried over in the eruption of militarism that spawned the First World War, the West has since run ever farther from God.  Determined to create its own solutions, Western Civilization decided that multiculturalism was the only way to prevent future violent catastrophes (despite history showing that multicultural societies are inherently unstable).    Wracked by guilt over the excesses of colonialism (itself a symptom of Christendom forgetting Christ), the ‘intelligentsia’ of the West opted for suicide.  Along the way, the United States has, like the Russians of 1917, redefined marriage, turned the schools hostile to any expression of Christian faith (while actively promoting alternatives), and generally tried to confine Christian expression to the confines of the sanctuary on Sunday.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.  But it seems we’re crazy enough as a society to believe that pushing Jehovah God even further out of sight will result in a 21st Century that is better than the 20th.

O come, O come, Emmanuel!

Ouch! (But the truth hurts)

Britain’s Express newspaper has this to say about German Chancellor Angela Merkel and her enabling of the Islamic tidal wave swamping Europe:

She may have thought that the open-door policy would provide a counter to Germany’s appalling record of aggression since the 1860s but in reality by wrecking Europe’s social fabric she has added to the long catalogue of Teutonic crimes.

As a student of history well familiar with the rise and fall of Prussia/Germany, let me just say “that’s saying something.”

And one other thing: “they’re right.”
