America’s choice

…goes far beyond selecting who inhabits the White House for the next four years.  This election cycle has brought to the forefront a deep and potent darkness in our land.  I believe Americans are more bitterly divided today than at any time since the Civil War.  This is more than a ‘multicultural’ issue.  It is a spiritual one as well.  Some of the nation seeks to honor God; another part works tirelessly to remove all references to Him from the public square. And an increasing number simply chooses to punt rather than confront such matters.

It’s time to stop asking God to bless America.  We need to bless Him with our choices.

The warning God gave to Israel through Jeremiah many centuries ago is worth reading again today:

If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it. And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it,  and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it.  (emphasis added)

Choose prayerfully and wisely today, America.  Time grows ever shorter.
